Why Custom Design

Template platforms offer quick and cheap solutions, but they also offer the same look as every other organization using the same template.

When hundreds of synagogues pull from the same library, your flyer blends in rather than standing out. Custom design from Syrah Design means your High Holidays / Tishrei materials reflect your community's identity, your rabbi's tone, and your unique audience. We've worked with Chabad houses, Reform congregations, day schools, and Jewish nonprofits across the US and Latin America.

We know the visual language of the chagim, and we know how to make it yours.

"Syrah Design created our entire High Holidays campaign (flyers, social posts, and web graphics) and the response from our community was incredible. The work felt personal and professional at the same time."

— Zalman Levin, Chabad Palo Alto, California

"Ever since I started working with you, I think we've already had like four  flyers...I'm getting a lot of good feedback. People see my status. Someone just, you know, just tell me how amazing my Shavuot one is. I heard how nice the Steak and Stand up is. Uh, you do a really good job."

— Shimey Wilhelm, Chabad Lake Oswego, Oregon

FAQ

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend reaching out at least 6–8 weeks before Rosh Hashana to ensure enough time for design, revisions, and final delivery. We accept a limited number of High Holidays projects, so earlier is better. To optimize resources we suggest booking no later than mid-July.

You can contact us any moment, we will answer with an estimated timeframe.

What's included in a typical High Holidays project?

Most projects include a print-ready flyer (PDF), a digital version optimized for email, and 1–2 social media graphics (Facebook post/cover and/or Instagram post). We also offer full campaign packages that cover all formats in a single, cohesive design. We'll discuss exactly what you need on your free consultation call.

Do you offer bilingual designs (Hebrew/English or Spanish/English)?

Yes. We regularly produce bilingual materials for communities with Hebrew, Spanish, and English needs. Our studio has deep experience with Latin American Jewish communities as well as US-based congregations. Just let us know your language requirements upfront.

How many revision rounds are included?

Standard projects include two rounds of revisions. We find that most clients are happy after the first round — we take the time upfront to understand your brand, colors, and tone so the first draft lands close to the mark.

What file formats will I receive?

You'll receive print-ready PDFs (300 dpi, CMYK) for anything going to print, and web/social-optimized PNGs or JPGs for digital use. If you need editable source files (e.g., for future in-house edits), we can discuss that as an add-on.

Can you match our existing brand colors and logo?

Absolutely — and we prefer it. Send us your vectorized logo, any existing brand guidelines, and examples of materials you've used in the past. We'll design everything to feel like a natural extension of your organization's identity.
We have the experience keeping the branding for many other organizations.

Do you also design for Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and other chagim?

Yes. While this page focuses on the High Holidays season, we design for the full Jewish calendar — Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, Passover, and more. Many clients come back to us throughout the year for each season.

You can check out our Holiday Designs minisite to have more information about this.

How does pricing work?

Pricing depends on the scope of your project: number of deliverables, complexity, and timeline. We offer a free 30-minute consultation to understand your needs and provide a clear quote with no surprises. Most single-event packages start in the low hundreds; full campaign packages are priced accordingly.
